Saudi Red Crescent Says Volunteers in Makkah Region Topped 17,000 in 2024
On International Volunteer Day, celebrated annually on December 5, the Saudi Red Crescent Authority (SRCA) in Makkah Region stated that 17,147 individuals, both male and female, have engaged in various volunteer services provided in 2024.
Volunteer hours through the year amounted to 307,412 hours, with the SRCA offering 3,502 volunteer opportunities, like providing emergency services to visitors of the Grand Mosque, including Umrah performers. The authority also offered social, sports, and health volunteering opportunities, alongside services related to national occasions, international days, events, and exhibitions.
Moreover, the SRCA conducted several awareness campaigns in densely populated areas and participated in maritime activities in the governorates of Jeddah and Al Qunfudhah and tourist areas in Taif. The authority also conducted first aid courses, presented by experienced volunteers, for other male and female volunteers.
The SRCA emphasized its keenness to benefit from all human resources willing to engage in volunteer work to advance the development process and achieve the aspirations of the Kingdom’s leadership.
The SRCA works on developing the capacities of its volunteers through various specialized courses in accordance with the mission and work of the authority.
With services across various health, humanitarian, sports, environmental, and awareness domains, the SRCA welcomes volunteers from the Makkah Region, leveraging their efforts, potential, and humanitarian contributions through the volunteering platform affiliated with the authority.
