ACWA Power Drives Sustainability with Coral Reef Conservation and Community Water Initiatives

ACWA Power, a global leader in sustainable water and power solutions, has announced two significant initiatives at COP16 to further its commitment to environmental conservation and community development. The first initiative is a partnership with the Global Coral R&D Accelerator Platform Foundation (CORDAP) to support coral reef conservation efforts. This collaboration will fund critical research projects, establish a Coral Academy to train and educate practitioners and the public, and support existing and new initiatives focused on coral reef conservation, resilience, and restoration.

The second initiative focuses on providing sustainable water access to over 1,500 households in the water-stressed Wadi Hajar region of Makkah. In collaboration with Sekaya, ACWA Power aims to empower local communities and strengthen the role of the Ministry in promoting community participation in water supply projects.

Rusha Alrawaf, Chief Corporate Affairs & Sustainability Officer at ACWA Power, emphasized the company's commitment to sustainable development and social responsibility. These initiatives, she stated, align with ACWA Power's broader mission to address critical global and local challenges beyond its core business operations.

By supporting coral reef conservation and providing access to clean water, ACWA Power demonstrates its leadership in environmental sustainability and social impact. These initiatives highlight the company's dedication to preserving our planet's ecosystems and improving the lives of communities around the world.

ACWA Power's commitment to sustainability is evident in its various initiatives, including its focus on renewable energy, water desalination, and green hydrogen. Through these efforts, ACWA Power is contributing to a more sustainable future for generations to come.
