Saudi Ports Authority Introduces New 'SJA' Shipping Service at Jeddah Islamic Port
The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) has announced the addition of the SJA shipping service, operated by CULINES, to the Jeddah Islamic Port. This enhancement aims to improve the competitiveness of Saudi ports on the maritime transport map, support trade flow, expand commercial opportunities, and elevate operational efficiency.
The new service connects Jeddah Islamic Port with Sokhna Port in Egypt and Aden Port in Yemen, with a total capacity of 900 TEUs.
This initiative is part of Mawani’s efforts to improve the Kingdom's ranking in global performance indicators and support national exports. It aligns with the National Transport and Logistics Strategy, which seeks to establish the Kingdom as a global logistics hub connecting three continents.
Jeddah Islamic Port is the largest on the Red Sea coast, benefiting from its strategic location and 62 multi-purpose berths. This gives it a pivotal status both regionally and internationally, reinforcing the Kingdom's leadership in the maritime sector.
