The Secretary General of the Muslim World League Reviews Eye Surgery Programs in Guinea-Bissau


The Prime Minister of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau, Mr. Rui Duarte Barros, received the Secretary General of the Muslim World League and Chairman of the Association of Muslim Scholars, His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Muhammad bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, in his office at the government palace. Dr. Al-Issa is visiting the country in response to an official invitation from the President of the Republic.


During the meeting, a number of topics of mutual interest were reviewed. As part of his visit to the Republic of Guinea-Bissau, His Excellency Sheikh Al-Issa reviewed the Muslim World League’s program for surgeries for patients in need, in cooperation with the National Hospital in the capital, Bissau. This initiative includes not only the surgical procedures but also the distribution of medicines and medical supplies.


Additionally, Sheikh Dr. Muhammad bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa delivered a lecture at the University of Guinea-Bissau on the values of Islam, in which he discussed the contents of the Makkah Charter. The lecture was attended by several Guinean figures—both Muslim and non-Muslim—faculty members, and a large number of students.
