Ministry of Economy and Planning, UNDP Sign Deal to Enhance Economic, Social Development

The Ministry of Economy and Planning and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) signed an agreement to activate a comprehensive program to enhance economic and social development. The agreement was signed by the ministry's General Supervisor for International Organizations Hattan bin Samman and UNDP Resident Representative Nahid Hussein, in the presence of Minister of Economy and Planning Faisal F. Alibrahim, UNDP Administrator Achim Steiner, Vice Minister of Economy and Planning Ammar Nagadi, and Dr. Abdallah Al Dardari, the assistant secretary-general and assistant administrator and director of the UNDP Regional Bureau for Arab States.

 The agreement aims to support economic and social policy planning, highlight national efforts and achievements at the United Nations, and enhance cooperation and exchange of knowledge and expertise in the field of sustainable development.

 Such cooperation comes as part of the Kingdom’s commitment to promoting sustainable economic and social development and achieving its national aspirations under Saudi Vision 2030, which contributes to developing national policies and strengthening institutional competencies.
