Saudi Team Competes with 90 Nations in 2025 International Chemistry Olympiad

The Saudi national chemistry team is competing in the 57th International Chemistry Olympiad in Dubai, UAE, from July 5 to 14, alongside teams from some 90 countries.

The Olympiad aims to foster international collaboration in chemistry and encourage students to develop innovative and independent solutions to complex chemical problems.

Saudi Arabia has a strong track record in the competition, having won 45 international awards in previous editions, including 15 silver medals, 28 bronze medals, and two certificates of appreciation.

The Saudi team, comprising four students, is trained and supervised by the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba) in cooperation with the Ministry of Education.

The International Chemistry Olympiad, in which more than 300 students are competing this year, is the world’s largest academic competition in chemistry at the high school level. It has been held annually in a different country since its inception in 1968.
