AlUla Launches Citrus Season
Annual Citrus Season kicked off today in AlUla Governorate, coinciding with the harvest season and offering a variety of festivities for residents and visitors.
The season, which commenced with a large turnout of families during the mid-term school break, is taking place at the farmers' market in AlManshiyah Plaza. Visitors can enjoy a vibrant atmosphere with open markets overflowing with fresh citrus fruits, engaging cultural and entertainment activities for all ages, and unique culinary experiences showcasing the diverse culinary applications of citrus fruits.
The festival will continue until January 11, providing ample opportunity for visitors to immerse themselves in the natural beauty of AlUla and explore its rich heritage.
The Citrus Season highlights AlUla's commitment to sustainable agriculture. The region boasts over 5,000 farms cultivating 405,000 trees across 29 citrus varieties, demonstrating the diversity of its agricultural landscape and the significant role of local farmers in supporting the region's economic growth.
