Republic" in recognition of his dedication to caring for orphans

Dr.
Al-Issa has launched several development programs and initiatives and
has met with leaders of key national groups, including prominent figures
from the Islamic community


The
Muslim World League recently held a ceremony in Malawi to honor 6,000
orphans under its sponsorship. The event was attended by His Excellency
President Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera and His Excellency Sheikh Dr.
Muhammad bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, the MWL's Secretary General and
Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars.


The
ceremony followed President Chakwera’s reception of Dr. Al-Issa at the
Presidential Palace in the capital city of Lilongwe. Dr. Al-Issa,
leading the MWL's delegation on a tour of Southern Africa, is launching
various programs and initiatives and meeting with leaders from diverse
national groups, including key figures from the Islamic community. The
visits aim to highlight the role of the Islamic community in fostering
national coexistence within Malawi’s diverse society.

During
the official ceremony, President Chakwera awarded Dr. Al-Issa the
"Order of the Republic" in recognition of his dedication to caring for
orphans.


His
Excellency Dr. Al-Issa commended the harmonious coexistence among
Malawi's diverse religious and ethnic groups, emphasizing the MWL's
commitment to fostering brotherhood and cooperation between nations,
particularly through charitable endeavors.


In
response, President Chakwera expressed gratitude for the MWL’s projects
and initiatives, highlighting Malawi’s pride in its strong friendship
and close partnership with this prominent international organization. He
noted that the MWL has consistently provided aid impartially and has
been a vital first responder to Malawi's requests for assistance during
crises.


The
ceremony honoring the MWL-sponsored orphans featured a documentary
showcasing the League's projects in Malawi. Following the presentation,
the orphans were honored, and souvenirs were exchanged. The event
garnered extensive coverage from local and international media and was
attended by senior officials, ambassadors, and humanitarian workers.
