Saudi Craftswomen Shine at Riyadh Book Fair Pavilion

The Riyadh International Book Fair 2025 crafts pavilion is drawing crowds as visitors explore a rich display of traditional arts and handmade products.

The pavilion features the remarkable work of several Saudi craftswomen, highlighting local artistry and cultural identity. Some women demonstrate the traditional Sadu craft, creating decorative patterns from natural wool inspired by the desert landscape. Others skillfully blend originality and modernity in their heritage art collections.

The wicker craft is also on display, with palm leaves woven into household items that reflect the richness of the Saudi environment. Other artisans showcase traditional weaving techniques that express compelling tales of heritage and belonging.

This participation strongly supports the Ministry of Culture’s initiative designating 2025 as the “Year of Handicrafts.” The initiative aims to empower artisans, document the nation’s craftsmanship heritage, and encourage new generations to sustain these valuable skills. Ultimately, it contributes to transforming traditional crafts into a vital cultural and economic asset for the Kingdom, aligning with Saudi Vision 2030.
