Head of Moroccan Government Emphasizes the Need for a Permanent Ceasefire in Gaza
Head of Government of Morocco Aziz Akhannouch emphasized the need to find practical solutions to achieve a tangible and permanent Gaza ceasefire and address the humanitarian situation.
His remarks came during his speech at the Extraordinary Arab and Islamic Summit held in Riyadh on Monday.
He stated that the worsening situation in the region requires working towards a final solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
The head of the Moroccan government indicated that while achieving a ceasefire in Gaza is an urgent priority, it must go hand in hand with opening a political horizon that ensures a just and lasting peace in the region.
He also affirmed that establishing security and stability in the region can only be completed within the framework of a two-state solution, where Gaza is an integral part of the territory of the independent Palestinian state, with east Jerusalem as its capital.
Additionally, he emphasized that true peace in the Middle East must ensure the Palestinians' legitimate rights within the framework of a two-state solution.
