Minister of Foreign Affairs: Two-State Solution is Only Viable Path toward Achieving a Just, Lasting Peace in the Region
Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah stressed that the two-state solution remains the only viable path toward achieving a just and lasting peace in the region.
He said the Extraordinary Arab and Islamic Summit, held yesterday in Riyadh, reflects the genuine commitment of Arab and Islamic nations to continue efforts aimed at calming the situation, reducing escalation, halting the violations committed by Israeli occupation forces, easing restrictions on humanitarian aid, and advocating for the two-state solution.
During the summit's press conference, he highlighted the discussions the summit had focused on, including boosting Arab and Islamic cooperation and coordinating with the international community to achieve a ceasefire, stop the conflict from expanding, and mitigate the growing threat posed by Israeli military operations to both regional and international security.
He said that the international community bears the responsibility to pressure Israel to halt its actions, including the withholding of Palestinian tax funds from the Palestinian Authority, despite previous commitments to the contrary made by Israel, which adversely impacts the administration of Palestinian territories.
Prince Faisal reaffirmed the Kingdom's and the Arab and Islamic nations' continuous support for the Palestinian Authority, acknowledging its capability to manage the situation in both the West Bank and Gaza, even under challenging circumstances.
