SDAIA Digitizes over Three Billion Transactions to Reduce Environmental Impact in Support of Saudi Green Initiative
The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) has made immense contributions to realizing the goals of Saudi Green Initiative (SGI) through its digital services and projects and by employing technological solutions to enhance environmental sustainability, reduce waste, and support community-driven environmental protection efforts. The contributions highlight the role of digital transformation in building a more prosperous and sustainable future.
The unified national access portal (Nafath) has digitized more than 3.3 billion transactions, drastically reducing paper usage and eliminating around 300,000 daily car trips to service centers, consequently lowering fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
Additionally, the Deem Government Cloud has integrated 263 government data centers, resulting in energy savings exceeding 591 gigawatt-hours.
Meanwhile, the national comprehensive application Tawakkalna serves more than 33 million users and processes up to 100 million digital transactions daily with high efficiency, reducing the need for paper-based or personal movement and enhancing the sustainability of the Kingdom’s digital infrastructure.
In parallel, the Ehsan National Platform for Charitable Work has also contributed to environmental efforts by funding 48 environmental projects and planting over 261,000 trees in collaboration with 41 charitable organizations, with funding exceeding SAR5.8 million. This highlights the integration of technology and charitable work in service of the environment.
SDAIA continues to lead national efforts in the field of data and artificial intelligence by developing digital infrastructure, empowering entities with technological solutions, and enhancing the digital economy in support of Saudi Vision 2030 objectives and the achievement of sustainable development.
