Author Chronicles the 45-Year History of Riyadh International Book Fair

Researcher and author Mansour bin Mohammed Al-Asaf has penned a
comprehensive book detailing the history of book fairs in Riyadh,
shedding light on their origins, evolution, and accomplishments.

Enriched with a collection of images, documents, and tables, the book
delves into the narrative of the Riyadh International Book Fair, tracing
its beginning on King Saud University's premises from its inaugural
edition in 1978 to its 26th edition in 2022.
Al-Asaf meticulously
documents the early days of the fair, tracks its evolution, and
showcases its triumphs, offering a documentary-style account and
historical archive of recent editions.
Today, the Riyadh
International Book Fair is an important international cultural platform
that fosters a dynamic cultural landscape in the Arab world.
Over
its extensive history, the fair has witnessed significant developments,
notably an increase in participating publishing houses whose number
surged from 120 at the inaugural fair in 1978 to an impressive 2,000
