Under Patronage of HRH the Crown Prince, Riyadh Region Governor Inaugurates MOMENTUM 2025

Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince, Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Development Fund (NDF), Governor of Riyadh Region Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz today inaugurated the Development Finance Conference MOMENTUM 2025, organized by the fund under the theme “Leading Development Transformation,” from December 9 to 11, at the King Abdulaziz International Conference Center.
In his speech, NDF Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors Mohammed Al-Tuwaijri affirmed that this generous patronage reflects the leadership’s belief that investing in people is the most worthy investment for building a prosperous future and achieving sustainable development.
He highlighted the Kingdom’s global leadership in reshaping the landscape of development finance, noting that its contributions align with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
He stated that the NDF presents forward-looking perspectives through the participation of distinguished speakers and experts from around the world at this conference, contributes to generating new momentum for development, and renews the fund’s commitment — set by the leadership — to advancing joint efforts to build a flourishing and human-centered future.
Al-Tuwaijri explained that development fields have diversified, noting that the Tourism Development Fund (TDF) supported 2,000 tourism projects across the Kingdom, while the Cultural Development Fund financed more than 1,500 cultural projects, and the Saudi Industrial Development Fund (SIDF) contributed to financing 4,000 projects.
He added that, internationally, the NDF has financed more than 800 projects and programs in 100 countries, totaling more than $21 billion. He further noted that more than 20% of SIDF’s portfolio is dedicated to sustainable energy projects, including green hydrogen projects with a capacity of 3.8 gigawatts and solar energy projects with a capacity of 2.6 gigawatts, in a step that reflects the Kingdom’s commitment to enabling the global green economy.
MOMENTUM 2025 aims to support the strategic direction of the NDF and its affiliated development funds and banks by enriching the development sector, enhancing the performance of the development system, strengthening its ability to meet national priorities, and coordinating efforts and unifying objectives to ensure sustainable development impact on society and the economy.
