The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Chairs Cabinet Session

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud chaired the Cabinet session held today in Riyadh.
The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques briefed the Cabinet on a message received from President Vladimir Putin of the Russian Federation regarding relations between the two nations.
The Cabinet then reviewed recent government activities aimed at strengthening ties with brotherly and friendly nations, and bolstering bilateral and multilateral coordination to serve common interests and consolidate regional security and stability. In this context, the Cabinet commended the outcomes of the third meeting of the Saudi-Omani Coordination Council, noting progress in economic, trade, industrial, energy, and investment sectors to achieve greater prosperity for the two brotherly peoples.
In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency following the session, Minister of Media Salman Al-Dossary stated that the Cabinet discussed recent regional developments, reiterating that the Kingdom will not hesitate to take the necessary measures to confront any threats to its national security.
The Cabinet reaffirmed Saudi Arabia's commitment to the security, stability, and sovereignty of Yemen, expressing full support for the president of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council and the recognized government. The Cabinet commended the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen for its role in protecting civilians in Hadramout and Al-Mahara and for its efforts to de-escalate tensions in response to the request of the president of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council, aimed at achieving security and stability and preventing the expansion of the conflict.
The Cabinet expressed regret over the outcome of the Kingdom’s efforts to de-escalate tensions, which were met with an unjustified escalation that contradicts the foundations upon which the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen was established. This escalation does not serve efforts to achieve security and stability in Yemen and is inconsistent with the promises the Kingdom received from the brotherly United Arab Emirates.
The Cabinet expressed the Kingdom’s hope that wisdom will prevail and that the principles of brotherhood and good neighborliness will be upheld, consistent with the close relations uniting the Gulf Cooperation Council countries and the interests of brotherly Yemen.
It also expressed hope that the United Arab Emirates would respond to the Republic of Yemen’s request for the withdrawal of Emirati forces from Yemen within 24 hours, and cease any military or financial support to the Southern Transitional Council or any other party within Yemen.
The Cabinet hoped that the United Arab Emirates would take the necessary steps to preserve bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries—which the Kingdom is keen to strengthen—and work together to advance measures that enhance the prosperity, development, and stability of the region's countries.
The Cabinet reaffirmed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s support for the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and safety of the brotherly Federal Republic of Somalia, and its rejection of the declaration of mutual recognition between the Israeli occupation authorities and the so-called “Somaliland region,” as it legitimizes unilateral separatist measures that violate international law.
The Cabinet followed up on Saudi Arabia's ongoing humanitarian leadership, providing health, education, and food aid globally based on Islamic values.
On the domestic front, the Cabinet reviewed strategies for comprehensive development under Vision 2030, focusing on improving the quality of life for citizens and residents. Specifically, the Cabinet commended the start of the implementation of the third phase of the Riyadh Main and Ring Road Axes Development Program, a key project to support the capital's transportation sector, enhance connectivity between its districts, and establish the city as a major regional hub for sustainable transportation and logistics.
