Fourth Farasan Poetry Forum Brings Together 40 Poets and Writers from 15 Arab Countries
The fourth annual Farasan Poetry Forum commenced yesterday on the Farasan Islands. The event is hosted by the Literature Association, in partnership with the Literature, Publishing, and Translation Commission. The forum was inaugurated by the Governor of the Farasan Islands, Abdullah bin Mohammed Al-Dhafiri.
During the opening ceremony, CEO of the Literature Association Abdullah Muftah emphasized the forum's increasing importance as an annual cultural event that enhances both the literary and tourism sectors of the Farasan Islands.
With its rich cultural heritage and unique historical sites, the islands provide an ideal setting for this event, which this year includes the participation of over 40 poets, writers, and intellectuals from 15 Arab countries.
Spanning three days, the forum offers a range of activities, including poetry recitals, literary discussions, and cultural exhibitions. The opening day featured 14 poets presenting their works in three sessions, engaging an enthusiastic audience of literature lovers.
In addition to the poetry sessions, the event includes exhibitions of fine arts and traditional handicrafts unique to the Farasan Islands, as well as performances by the Folk Arts Troupe, highlighting the region's vibrant cultural heritage.
