SFD Participates in Inauguration of Busaiteen Bridge Project in Bahrain

The Saudi Fund for Development (SFD), represented by Deputy CEO Eng. Faisal bin Mohamed Al-Qahtani, participated today in the inauguration of the Bahrain northern road project (Busaiteen Bridge). The project is funded by the SFD with $250 million through a grant provided by the Government of Saudi Arabia via the fund. The inauguration ceremony was attended by Bahrain’s Deputy Prime Minister Sheikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa.
The project is designed to facilitate traffic flow and alleviate congestion on Bahrain's road network, while also contributing to increased investment and economic opportunities in the country. The SFD has worked closely with Bahrain’s Ministry of Works to ensure the successful completion of this essential project, which forms a key part of the nation’s transportation infrastructure.
The SFD’s development collaboration with Bahrain began 48 years ago. Over this period, the fund has financed 30 projects and programs across sectors such as energy, transportation, and social infrastructure. These initiatives, supported through concessional loans and grants from Saudi Arabia, have contributed to fostering sustainable development and driving economic growth in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
