GASTAT Publishes 2024 Business Sector Economic Activities Statistics

The General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) announced the release of the results of the Business Sector Economic Activities Statistics for 2024.
 According to the bulletin’s findings, total operating revenues of industrial activities amounted to SAR2,901 billion, achieving growth of 1.3% compared to the previous year. Total operating expenditures reached SAR1,176 billion, up by 11.3%, while total compensation of employees recorded SAR212 billion, an increase of 8.5% year on year.
 The bulletin results showed that wholesale and retail trade activities achieved total operating revenues of SAR919 billion, posting growth of 8.5% compared to the previous year. Total operating expenditures in this sector amounted to SAR522.1 billion, up by 8.2%, while compensation of employees reached SAR78.1 billion, an increase of 7.7% year on year.
 The results also indicated that transportation and storage activities recorded total operating revenues of around SAR178 billion, achieving growth of 4.8% compared to the previous year. Total operating expenditures amounted to SAR76.5 billion, up by 5.4%, while compensation of employees in these activities reached SAR32.3 billion, an increase of 7.2% year on year.
 The findings further showed that information and communication activities recorded total operating revenues of SAR239.4 billion, achieving growth of 5.6% compared to the previous year. Total operating expenditures reached SAR116.3 billion, up by 6.2%, while compensation of employees amounted to SAR31.7 billion, an increase of 5.9% year on year.
 The bulletin results also reported that other services activities recorded total operating revenues of SAR750.8 billion, achieving growth of 4.7% compared to the previous year. Total operating expenditures amounted to SAR275.5 billion, up by 4.8%, while compensation of employees in these activities reached SAR145.2 billion, an increase of 7.1% year on year.
