JIAT Issues Statement on Allegation that Coalition Forces Targeting Compact Pick-up Truck and House in Hajjah Governorate

The Joint Incidents Assessment Team (JIAT) issued a statement regarding the allegation that the Coalition Forces targeted a compact pick-up truck and a house in Al-Jarr village in Abs directorate of Hajjah governorate on 16/06/2019 as follows:
 “With regard to what was reported to JIAT that at 9:00 am on 16/06/2019 an airplane and possibly a drone began flying over Al-Jarr village in Abs directorate of Hajjah governorate, and about ten minutes later an airstrike by coalition forces hit a compact pick-up truck parked in the village, and about ten minutes after the first strike a second airstrike hit a house and destroyed it. Coordinates of the claimed location were provided.
 JIAT vetted the incident and reviewed all documents, including air tasking orders, daily mission schedule, mission execution procedures, after mission reports, satellite images, JIAT members visit to the operation centers and related field units, Coalition Forces rules of engagement, provisions and principles of International Humanitarian Law and its customary rules, and after assessment of evidences, JIAT found that Al-Jarr village is located in the center of Abs directorate in Hajjah governorate.
 By studying the air missions carried out by the Coalition Forces fighter airplanes and UAVs on 16/06/2019, which is the date of the claim, JIAT found that the Coalition Forces did not carry out any air missions on Al-Jarr village.
 By studying the daily mission schedule carried out by the Coalition Forces fighter airplanes and UAVs one day prior and one day after the claimed date, JIAT found the following:
 On 15/06/2019 the day prior to the claimed date, JIAT found that the Coalition Forces did not carry out any air missions on Al-Jarr village.
 On 17/06/2019 the day after the claimed date, JIAT found that the Coalition Forces did not carry out any air missions on Al-Jarr village.
 JIAT specialists studied the satellite images of the claimed location after the date of the claim, and found no signs of aerial targeting on it.
 In light of that, JIAT found that Coalition Forces did not target a compact pick-up truck a house in Al-Jarr village in Abs directorate of Hajjah governorate on 16/06/2019, as claimed.”
