ZATCA Seizes over 25 Million Illicit Pills, 1,098 Kilograms of Narcotics in Annual Crackdown
The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) thwarted multiple attempts to smuggle 1,098 kilograms of narcotics and 25,112,378 prohibited pills across the Kingdom's land, sea, and air ports of entry between June 1, 2025, and May 31, 2026. The illicit substances were hidden using various concealment techniques inside diverse shipments, including foodstuffs, equipment, vehicles, and trucks.
ZATCA attributed these security successes to heightened customs control, advanced inspection technologies, and continuous coordination with the Ministry of Interior and the General Directorate of Narcotics Control. The authority urged the public to assist in combatting smuggling by reporting violations confidentially via its dedicated security number 1910, international number 009661910, or email 1910@zatca.gov.sa, noting that financial rewards are provided for accurate tips.
