Artist's Detailed Miniature of Hail City Becomes Festival Highlight

The Beit Hail Heritage Festival showcases unique artistic works that reflect the region's rich historical and archaeological legacy. With miniature representations of Saudi cities from the past, these creations transport visitors through time, highlighting intricate details of life and the beauty of historical architecture.

Artist and craft trainer Abdullah Al-Khazam, a native of Hail, showcased a clay model of the ancient commercial area map of Hail city at the event. This model has attracted thousands of visitors, highlighting the region's heritage and architectural authenticity. It illustrates the techniques used in crafting such historical elements, enriching the festival's portrayal of the Kingdom's genuine heritage.

Al-Khazam based the model on historical sources, establishing precise measurements and conducting field visits. He also consulted documented accounts from historians and researchers and gathered information from elderly residents for accuracy.

The model features key ancient landmarks, including Barzan Mosque and Palace, the commercial square, and various government offices. Constructed with traditional materials like clay, adobe, and palm trunks, the model employs classic construction techniques and incorporates period-specific ornaments and engravings, effectively simulating the historical image of the city center.
