Culinary Arts Commission Joins 2026 UNESCO Creative Cities of Gastronomy Annual Meeting

The Culinary Arts Commission is participating in the 2026 UNESCO Creative Cities Network - Cities of Gastronomy Annual Meeting, hosted by Kuching city in Malaysia’s Sarawak from August 4 to 7.

 The commission is joining as part of its efforts to strengthen Saudi Arabia’s presence at specialized international forums and promote cultural cooperation and knowledge exchange in the culinary arts.

 The annual meeting is the network’s official gathering of member cities from around the world to strengthen international cooperation, exchange best practices, and discuss joint initiatives and projects that support sustainable development through culture and creativity. The event also provides a platform to review member cities’ achievements and future plans.

 Through its participation, the commission aims to showcase Saudi Arabia’s efforts to preserve, document, and promote its culinary heritage, while highlighting national initiatives that help introduce Saudi cuisine and its traditional elements to international audiences.

 The commission also seeks to build international partnerships in line with the commission’s objectives of cementing the Kingdom’s position as a cultural and culinary destination and advancing the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 for the cultural sector.

 The commission will attend official meetings and sessions at the event, presenting current and future cooperation programs, and taking part in activities held alongside the meeting.

 The commission is participating as part of its efforts to expand its international partnerships and strengthen the Kingdom’s presence on specialized global platforms.

 The participation also supports the standing of Madinah and Buraidah within the UNESCO Creative Cities Network, while opening new opportunities for cooperation in cultural and research projects and knowledge exchange programs, and promoting Saudi Arabia’s cuisine and culinary heritage internationally.
