Makkah:
His Excellency Mr. Ahmad Muzani, Speaker of the People's Consultative Council of the Republic of Indonesia, led a delegation of Council members on a visit to the headquarters of the Muslim World League (MWL) in Makkah. He was warmly received by His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Muhammad bin Abdul Karim Al-Issa, Secretary-General of the MWL and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars.
During the visit, His Excellency the Speaker conveyed the greetings of His Excellency President Prabowo Subianto of Indonesia and expressed his appreciation for the MWL’s global efforts. He highlighted the MWL’s significant effort in promoting Islam’s tolerant and moderate message across the East and West, engaging with diverse religions and cultures. He commended the MWL for carrying the message of Islam in a way that wisely unites races and peoples, strengthening the prominence of the Islamic vision and amplifying its global presence.
The Speaker also noted the MWL’s efforts in spreading Islam’s values for the betterment of humanity and the preservation of societies, while facing and responding to false accusations and slander against the great message of Islam.
Al-Muzani also conveyed to His Excellency the MWL’s Secretary General the appreciation of President Prabowo Subianto, acknowledging the significant role the MWL plays both in the Islamic world and internationally. He extended an official invitation for Dr. Al-Issa to visit Indonesia to collaborate on strengthening national cohesion and protecting the country's diversity. This initiative is aligned with the message of Islam, which was revealed as a mercy to the world. Additionally, the President expressed his full support for the MWL’s efforts, particularly in establishing the International Museum of the Prophet’s Biography and Islamic Civilization in Indonesia, offering all necessary resources to ensure its success.
In response, His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Al-Issa warmly welcomed the visit of the Speaker and members of the People's Consultative Council of the Republic of Indonesia. He emphasized that the MWL is honored to carry such a noble message, dedicating all its efforts to spreading the wise and compassionate guidance of Islam to the world. Dr. Al-Issa noted that this message, rooted in mercy and kindness, is especially relevant today, as Islam is often misunderstood due to various reasons, including the misguided and extremist actions of a few individuals who claim to represent the faith.
His Eminence, the MWL’s Secretary General emphasized that Islam was at the forefront of confronting hate speech, racism, and their associated practices. It also rejected the theory of the "clash of civilizations," offering a compelling refutation of its claims.
The meeting also addressed the "Makkah Al-Mukarramah Document," which was signed by senior muftis and scholars from across the nation’s various sects. These scholars had the honor of presenting the original copy of the document to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud—may God protect him—who was the patron of its historic conference. The discussion highlighted the significance of the document's endorsement by the member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), particularly their recommendation to integrate it into the religious, educational, and cultural institutions of the member countries.
