Saudi Games 2024 Torch Arrives in Najran

The torch for the third edition of the Saudi Games arrived today in Najran as part of its promotional tour for the largest national sports event in the Kingdom. The event will be held in Riyadh from October 3 to 17.

Undersecretary of the Najran Region Dr. Melfi Al-Oteibi received the torch from the former director of the Youth Dorm, Melfi bin Hussein Al-Mhiyah. The torch was also carried at the Historic Emirate Palace by Mona Shahab, the second Saudi woman to climb Mount Kilimanjaro and reach the summit of Mount Everest and a board member of the Saudi Swimming Federation.

The torch's visit included one of the most prominent tourist and recreational landmarks in Najran, King Fahd Park, where the torch was carried by Huwaig Ali, a karate fighter who won second place in the under-11 combat category at the 2020 Kingdom Championship and a bronze medalist in the Saudi national team qualifiers in Madinah for juniors in 2023. The torch was then carried by Muhammad Awad Al-Sai'eri, the former president of Sharurah Club.
