Arab Parliament Welcomes ICC Decision to Issue Arrest Warrants for the Israeli Prime Minister and Former Minister of Defense
The Arab Parliament welcomed the International Criminal Court's (ICC) decision to issue arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former minister of defense Yoav Gallant, on charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity in the Gaza Strip.
This decision, according to the Arab Parliament, is a triumph for international justice and a firm stance against grave violations of international and humanitarian law, particularly the ongoing offenses of the Israeli occupation forces against the Palestinian people, and an effort to end the impunity that encourages further atrocities.
Arab Parliament Speaker Mohammed Ahmed Al Yamahi reiterated the parliament's unwavering support for ICC and all international bodies dedicated to justice, and emphasized the need for global efforts to hold accountable those responsible for crimes against the Palestinian people, and to ensure their international protection.
He also urged the international community to uphold international law and support ICC in achieving justice, deemed vital for the attempt to deter and halt the ongoing crimes against the Palestinian people.
