Saudi National Livestock, Fisheries Development Program Participates in China International Import Expo
The Saudi National Livestock and Fisheries Development Program is participating in the 7th edition of the China International Import Expo, held in Shanghai between November 5 and 10.
Various Saudi government entities and companies specialized in dairy, poultry, fish, shrimp, and date sectors are participating in the event.
Program’s Director of Institutional Communication Abdulmajeed Alshehri noted that the program was responsible for organizing the participation of these companies, in collaboration with several government bodies, including the National Center for Palms and Dates, the Agricultural Development Fund, and King Abdullah University of Science and Technology.
Ten Saudi companies are participating in the event to help private sector companies market agricultural products in priority international markets, including the Chinese market.
The expo is also expected to boost trade and increase non-oil exports, thus contributing to the improvement of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's balance of trade.
Alshehri said that the program seeks to promote Saudi investment opportunities, and engage with key investors and relevant Chinese government entities to boost cooperation in investment, and trade between the two countries.
The expo is one of China’s key economic initiatives aimed at expanding trade and boosting global market openness. This year, over 1,600 exhibitors take part in the exhibition, which is expected to attract some 150,000 visitors from more than 100 countries.
