The Saudi Music Commission has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Steinway & Sons, one of the world’s leading piano manufacturers, aiming to support the development of the music sector in the Kingdom and strengthen its professional and educational programs.
The MoU was signed by CEO of the Saudi Music Commission Paul Pacifico and President of Steinway & Sons in Europe, the Middle East and Africa Guido Zimmermann. The agreement seeks to unify efforts to empower national talent, raise the level of professional training and facilitate access to musical instruments that meet international standards.
The agreement comes as part of the commission’s initiatives to support artistic and educational plans and to develop commercial and investment partnerships that contribute to building a sustainable base for the music sector, in line with its efforts to enhance the quality of the ecosystem and expand growth opportunities.
Under the MoU, both parties will study joint initiatives, including the development of specialized training programs for piano technicians, strengthening participation in the commission’s initiatives and events, and facilitating engagement with partners in cultural, educational and retail sectors across the Kingdom.
The agreement affirms the Music Commission’s commitment to building a sustainable music sector that supports excellence, creativity and cultural exchange, and contributes to stimulating investment, creating job opportunities and enhancing the revenues of local and international music institutions in a way that promotes the sector’s economic growth.
Pacifico said the partnership represents an important step in the commission’s efforts to empower musical talent across the Kingdom by combining global expertise with local creativity to build a sustainable framework for education, performance and craftsmanship. He noted that the commission is working to enhance a music market that attracts industry leaders and investors and supports the sustainable growth of institutions and musicians, thereby strengthening the presence of music within the Saudi cultural landscape.
Zimmermann emphasized that the Kingdom is witnessing a remarkable cultural transformation and that the company is proud to contribute to this development. He said the partnership aligns with Steinway & Sons’ commitment to education, talent development and providing musical instruments that meet global standards, expressing their aspiration to help prepare a new generation of Saudi musicians and technicians and participate in enhancing the Kingdom’s cultural movement in the coming years.
