Endangered Falcon Nests in King Salman Royal Reserve

King Salman bin Abdulaziz Royal Natural Reserve, a crucial migratory route and habitat for approximately 290 bird species, has recorded the nesting of the endangered Sooty falcon (Falco concolor). This significant event highlights the ecological importance of the reserve as a breeding ground for this bird, which preys on small birds, bats, and some mammals.

The reserve protects biodiversity, particularly threatened and endangered species, through active conservation, monitoring, and continuous follow-up programs. These endeavors aim to maintain healthy populations in their natural habitats and mitigate threats.

Experts and field teams monitor these birds during their annual migration through the Kingdom, recognizing their environmental and historical significance. The reserve's work to restore natural and wildlife ecosystems aligns with the Kingdom's 2030 goal to secure an improved quality of life.
