Arab Parliament: Silence on Palestinian Massacres Fuels Fanaticism and Hatred
In a statement marking the International Day for Tolerance, observed annually on November 16, Arab Parliament Speaker Mohammed Ahmed Al Yamahi stressed the critical need to uphold the values of tolerance and peaceful coexistence, at national, regional, and international levels, particularly in an era marked by growing global conflicts.
Al Yamahi highlighted the dire conditions faced by the Palestinian people. He described their suffering over the past year, brought about by a "genocide and brutal massacres unprecedented in history", and criticized the international community's silence on these atrocities, which, he warned, fuels fanaticism and hatred, and undermines the principle of tolerance.
Al Yamahi urged the international community, particularly global institutions, to fulfill their moral, humanitarian, political, and legal responsibilities by taking immediate action to halt these massacres. He called for renewed efforts to protect humanity and preserve the values of tolerance that are being systematically violated by Israeli occupation forces in Palestine and Lebanon.
He further appealed to nations worldwide to commemorate the International Day for Tolerance under the banner of "Enough Killing and Destruction", stressing the dire need for collective action to restore peace and justice.
