Masam Project Removes 2,692 Landmines from Yemen
King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) Masam Project for clearing Yemeni lands of mines removed 2,692 mines across various regions of Yemen during the fifth and final week of January 2026. The total included 12 anti-personnel mines, 70 anti-tank mines, 2,602 items of unexploded ordnance, and eight improvised explosive devices.
With these efforts, the total number of mines removed during January reached 7,554, while the cumulative total since the launch of the Masam Project has risen to 537,505. These mines were indiscriminately planted across Yemeni territory, claiming the lives of innocent children, women, and the elderly, and spreading fear among civilians.
Through its humanitarian arm, KSrelief, Saudi Arabia continues its efforts to clear Yemeni lands of mines under a project that enhances civilian safety and contributes to enabling the Yemeni people to live a dignified and secure life.
