CST Announces Operational Plans to Serve Pilgrims for 1445H Season

With the wise leadership's support and empowerment, the Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CST) announced the communications and technology sector's readiness for the 1445H Hajj season. The objective is to ensure utmost comfort and convenience for the pilgrims by offering various means of assistance.
Minister of Communications and Information Technology Eng. Abdullah Al-Swaha, along with CST Governor Dr. Mohammed Al-Tamimi, conducted an inspection of the sector's preparations in Makkah and the holy sites.
The preparations include over 6,200 communication towers in Makkah, Madinah, and the holy sites, with more than 4,000 towers supporting fifth-generation (5G) technology and over 10,500 WiFi access points. Dr. Al-Tamimi affirmed that the CST, as the regulator of the communications and technology sector in the Kingdom, is utilizing all its capabilities to facilitate and ensure the provision of high-quality communications and technology services through investment in a robust infrastructure based on the latest technological innovations.
The CST has completed its preparations to welcome pilgrims at various land, air, and sea entry points, ensuring the readiness of the communications and technology infrastructure to meet their needs. It conducted inspection visits to ensure service providers can keep up with the pilgrims' requirements. Additionally, the CST strengthened collaborative efforts by holding meetings with various entities to unify efforts in serving pilgrims.
