The Kingdom’s Efforts in Serving the Two Holy Mosques and the Guests of the Merciful: A Model to Follow
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia takes immense pride in the great honor of being home to the Two Holy Mosques in Makkah and Madinah. Throughout the year, the Kingdom exerts exceptional efforts to serve the visitors of the Sacred House of Allah (the Kaaba) and the visitors of the Prophet’s Mosque, especially with the increasing numbers of Umrah pilgrims during the blessed month of Ramadan. These efforts are carried out under the direct guidance of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and his trustworthy Crown Prince, Prince Mohammed bin Salman – may God protect them – who are committed to providing everything necessary to ensure the comfort and safety of the Guests of the Merciful, stemming from their religious and historical responsibility.
Under the umbrella of the Ministry of Interior and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif, the Emirate of the Makkah region works in a unified team spirit with security personnel to ensure the smooth arrival of visitors to the Two Holy Mosques. Through meticulous security plans and a strong on-ground presence, security forces work day and night to manage crowd movements, facilitate entry and exit, and maintain the highest safety standards. This is overseen directly by the Director of Public Security and the personnel of various security sectors, who form the first line of defense in protecting and securing the visitors.
Under the guidance of the Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, and the efforts of Assistant Abdulaziz Al-Daoud, the Mayor of the Holy Capital, the Makkah Municipality presents a global model in managing urban services. This is supported by advanced infrastructure, including modern road networks to reduce congestion, integrated electricity and water systems, and a comprehensive waste management system that maintains the cleanliness of the holy sites. The Kingdom also provides a state-of-the-art communication network that supports instant communication and meets emergency needs, making the visitors' experience more seamless and secure.
With the influx of millions of Umrah pilgrims during Ramadan, the Kingdom intensifies its efforts through expansion projects of the Grand Mosque, the opening of bridges and tunnels to facilitate access to the Holy Mosque, and the enhancement of health and guidance services. Specialized teams distribute water and free meals, while dedicated pathways are prepared for the elderly and people with disabilities, all within a clear policy that upholds human dignity and ensures their comfort.
It is impossible to enumerate all the efforts and those behind them, as gratitude extends to everyone contributing to serving the Guests of the Merciful. This begins with the wise leadership that lays the foundations of excellence, extends to the security personnel who sacrifice their comfort, and includes the workers in municipal services, infrastructure, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Transport, and all state sectors who work tirelessly behind the scenes. The Kingdom’s efforts – which reinforce its status as the destination for Muslims – are an extension of its noble mission to serve Islam and a true reflection of Vision 2030, which prioritizes the comfort of pilgrims and Umrah performers.
Through this integration of strategic planning, precise execution, and humanitarian care, Saudi Arabia remains a pioneer in serving the Two Holy Mosques and their honorable guests, writing a new chapter in the story of boundless human generosity. The Kingdom’s efforts are not merely services provided; they are a message of love and sacrifice that embodies the tolerant values of Islam and reflects the depth of its connection to its religious and historical mission.
