SDRPY Assistant Chief Meets Head of Marib Girls Foundation

Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY) Assistant Supervisor General and Head of the Projects and Development Initiatives Sector Eng. Hassan Al-Attas met at the program headquarters in Riyadh with Marib Girls Foundation head Yasmeen Al-Qadhi.

The meeting was also attended by SDRPY Assistant Supervisor General for Institutional Relations and Head of the Communication and International Cooperation Sector Abdullah bin Kadasa.

Meeting participants discussed ways to enhance cooperation in supporting and empowering Yemeni women economically and developmentally. The meeting comes as part of the active partnership between SDRPY and the Marib Girls Foundation, which has resulted in the implementation of the “Saba Economic Empowerment Program for Women,” the first of its kind in Marib Governorate.

Al-Qadhi praised the pivotal role of SDRPY in supporting local initiatives and building human capacity, stressing that such impactful partnerships contribute to enhancing economic and social stability and enable women to play an effective role in development.

The Saba Economic Empowerment Program for Women led to establishing the first women's business incubator in Marib. It equipped 60 women with the skills needed to launch their own businesses, facilitated the creation and training of 35 business projects, and supported them through funding, capacity building, and consulting services. Also, 5,000 female students benefited from awareness campaigns carried out as part of the program’s activities.

SDRPY has so far implemented 264 projects and development initiatives across various regions of the country. The initiatives span key sectors such as education, health, transportation, energy, water, agriculture, fisheries, institutional capacity building, and integrated development programs.
