Occupancy Indicators Reflect Rising Demand for Luxury Hospitality Services in Madinah
Luxury hotels in Madinah recorded a 4% increase in occupancy rates during the last week of October, while overall hotel occupancy in the city rose by 2.5% compared with the previous week.
Madinah demonstrated strong performance in the hospitality sector during the first quarter of 2025, with hotels posting a high average occupancy rate of 82.7%, topping all regions in the Kingdom for the second consecutive quarter, following its lead in the fourth quarter of 2024. This performance reflects Madinah’s position as a leading year-round destination for visitors.
Serviced apartments and other hospitality facilities in Madinah also achieved an occupancy rate of 59.6% by the end of the first quarter of 2025, ranking second nationwide after Riyadh, which recorded 71.5%. This growth highlights the continued increase in demand for accommodation services in Madinah, driven by the rising number of visitors and the longer average length of stay, reaffirming the city’s competitiveness in the national tourism market.
Madinah receives large numbers of visitors throughout the year from inside and outside the Kingdom. The Hajj season represents the peak period of demand for hotels, luxury hospitality, and serviced apartment facilities. The sector continues to thrive during the rest of the year with the steady arrival of pilgrims and visitors to the city.
