IMCTC Launches ‘Peace Journalists’ Initiative for 14 Yemeni Trainees

The Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC) launched today its “Peace Journalists” initiative at its headquarters in Riyadh. The program targets 14 Yemeni trainees as part of the coalition’s strategic media initiatives aimed at strengthening the capacities of media professionals in member states and enhancing their role in countering extremist ideology and hate speech.
IMCTC Secretary General Maj. Gen. Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Moghedi stated that the coalition represents a unique model of collective action among member states across the intellectual, media, military, and financial domains to combat terrorism and extremism and to promote the values of moderation and balance.
He emphasized that Yemen, with its deep-rooted history and strategic location, constitutes a vital cultural and humanitarian pillar within the Islamic world’s regional security framework. Empowering and training Yemeni media professionals, he added, is an investment in regional stability that strengthens the discourse of peace and counters intellectual and media extremism.
Al-Moghedi reaffirmed that the coalition will continue implementing programs and initiatives to support and empower media institutions in member states, including those in Yemen, to promote a culture of peace and national unity and protect public opinion from ideological polarization.
