SDRPY Signs Cooperation Agreement with Yemeni Ministry of Youth and Sports
The Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY) signed a cooperation agreement with the Yemeni Ministry of Youth and Sports to support and develop the sports sector, improve sports facilities, and enhance the capabilities of Yemeni youth. The initiative aims to improve sports infrastructure across Yemen.
The agreement was signed by Minister of Youth and Sports Nayef Saleh Al-Bakri and SDRPY Assistant General Supervisor Hassan Al-Attas.
The agreement includes several areas of cooperation, most notably providing technical and advisory support to improve the sustainability and efficiency of sports facilities. It also includes organizing sports tournaments in various disciplines and developing sports capacities in coordination with youth and sports offices and SDRPY offices across Yemeni governorates.
The signing reflects SDRPY’s continued efforts to support youth and sports through various projects and initiatives, including rehabilitating sports facilities, constructing stadiums, sponsoring tournaments, and providing technical support and knowledge transfer in the sports sector.
Among SDRPY’s initiatives is the construction of stadiums built to FIFA standards for Al-Jazira, Al-Rawda, and Al-Minaa clubs in Aden Governorate. These facilities provide young people with a professional sporting environment that enables them to practice sports at high standards and develop their skills.
In addition, more than 30 sports fields have been built in model schools across several governorates in Yemen.
The program has also organized several sports tournaments that provide young people opportunities to compete and showcase their talents, including ongoing competitions in Aden, Marib, Hadramout, and Socotra.
