Stemming from these principles, the annual Media Excellence Award, overseen by the Ministry of Media, was established—not only to honor the diligent and creative but also to ensure everyone’s commitment to professional ethics and to foster a competitive spirit aimed at serving the public good.
Under the guidance of His Excellency the Minister of Media, Mr. Salman bin Yousuf Al-Dosari, the follow-up of His Excellency Assistant Minister Dr. Abdullah Al-Maghlooth, and the execution by the Government Communication Center led by Mr. Abdulrahman Al-Majrashi, along with all the dedicated teams responsible for this valuable annual event, everyone works in a unified team spirit. They support the foundations of fair competition among all participants and enhance contributions to raising levels of innovation and creativity. This stems from the Ministry of Media’s commitment to credibility, especially as the ministry carries a critical responsibility: monitoring and showcasing the achievements and vision of the blessed Kingdom. Here lies the role of Saudi media power, which is engaged in a fierce battle on both regional and international fronts.
Undoubtedly, such specialized awards, which receive high-level support, significantly contribute to achieving the principles of credibility and transparency essential for media success. This necessitates raising standards of quality and professionalism, along with precise reliance on modern technological tools, leading to increased audience engagement and meeting their needs with accurate information from trusted and reliable sources. All of this enhances confidence in Saudi national media tools while simultaneously providing accurate and truthful data and information to global media. This is crucial for responding to any false claims or verifying and documenting information.
The concept of media excellence is no longer a luxury or a hierarchical standard; for the state and its entity, it is an urgent necessity to keep pace with rapid global changes, especially in a media landscape that is diverse and multi-sourced. The nature of counter-media relies on two types of tactics: the first is disseminating a large volume of false information targeting non-specialized audiences who do not verify sources, and the second is spreading a limited amount of accurate media information while subtly inserting a small amount of false information aimed at undermining the state’s achievements. Therefore, the Media Excellence Award today is no longer just an honor but a vital part of the state’s arsenal and supportive tools in advancing the nation’s journey and achieving its lofty interests.
The award categories are diverse and cover nearly all media platforms, from the best digital content to the best media professionals across radio and television, as well as the best news coverage, TV programs, and documentaries.
