Buraidah Dates Carnival Spurs Economic Development and Investment in Qassim
Qassim Region, home to some of the oldest and finest types of palm trees in the Arabian Peninsula, generates significant economic returns for farmers, investors, and traders, with famous varieties including sukkari, khalas, saq'i, wannanah, shaqra, barhi, majdool, and hoshanah.
Organized by the National Center for Palms and Dates and the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, under the direct supervision of the Principality of Qassim Region, the Buraidah Dates Carnival began in early August. The event highlights the importance of palm trees to the region, preserves its authentic heritage, and contributes to stimulating and expanding the palm-based economy.
The carnival provides a fertile environment for business, with Buraidah's Date City transforming into a business incubator during the event. It offers numerous investment opportunities for entrepreneurs seeking to start a private business or generate additional income. These opportunities include buying, selling, and storing dates, as well as related services such as packaging, sorting, and delivery.
