SDRPY Implements Development Projects to Enhance Power Operational Capacity
The projects and initiatives of the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY) in the energy sector have contributed to improving essential services, education, healthcare, and other fields through developmental initiatives that enhanced energy efficiency and operational capacity. They also promoted the use of renewable energy across various Yemeni governorates.
The SDRPY projects and initiatives in the energy sector include enhancing the reliability of electricity services in healthcare facilities established by the program by 100%. This is achieved through an independent power generation system that fully meets the facilities' electricity needs, ensuring the sustainable operation of hospitals and centers while providing services efficiently and effectively.
The SDRPY's support for the energy sector also includes expanding and rehabilitating the Al-Ghaydah power plant in Al-Mahra Governorate, increasing power generation capacity, and improving distribution networks. Al-Ghaydah District relies entirely on this transmission station for its electricity supply.
The SDRPY has implemented projects to illuminate roads and public squares with solar energy in various Yemeni governorates, enhancing safe mobility for citizens and improving the urban landscape. The SDRPY's energy sector projects are part of 264 initiatives supporting eight key sectors: education, health, transportation, energy, water, agriculture, fisheries, developmental programs, and government capacity building across different Yemeni governorates.
