SOCPA to Host IFAC Connect Forum in Riyadh in October
The Saudi Organization for Chartered and Professional Accountants (SOCPA) is scheduled to host the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) Connect Forum for the Middle East and North Africa in October in Riyadh, underscoring the global recognition the Saudi accounting sector has achieved.
Held under the theme "Leading Sustainability Transformation: Global Standards, Regional Solutions," the forum is among the most prominent international professional events. It will bring together leaders of the profession, regulators, major firms, and policymakers from around the world to discuss global accounting transformations and the challenges and opportunities they present.
The event will feature participation from more than 600 specialists and experts, along with over 20 international speakers representing leading professional bodies and organizations. Government agencies, universities, and local, regional, and international accounting firms will also attend. Twenty-eight local, regional, and international entities will take part, including IFAC, the International Public Sector Accounting Standards Board (IPSASB), and professional associations from the Gulf Cooperation Council, the Arab world, Africa, and Europe.
Spanning three days, the program will include panel discussions and professional meetings, notably the Kingdom’s regulators’ meeting and the IPSASB roundtable. Key sessions will also explore the future of the accounting profession amid global transformations.
