Prince Mohammed bin Salman Hospital in Aden Launches Multi-Specialty Volunteer Medical Program

A volunteer medical program specializing in urology and physiotherapy has been launched at Prince Mohammed bin Salman Hospital in Aden, Yemen. The program is funded and supported by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) and the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY) and is staffed by Saudi medical professionals.
Initially launched in April, the program covers various specialties, including pediatric cardiac surgery and catheterization, ear, nose, and throat (ENT), open-heart surgery, neurosurgery, and plastic, burn, and reconstructive surgery. The initiative aims to address healthcare needs across all Yemeni governorates.
The program’s launch was facilitated by the SDRPY’s efforts to make the hospital operational. Spanning 20,000 square meters, the hospital features 270 beds, 14 specialized clinics, and a state-of-the-art cardiac center. Between January 2023 and November 2024, the facility has recorded over 1.9 million patient visits.
The SDRPY has undertaken numerous projects to support Yemen’s health sector, including building, equipping, rehabilitating, and operating hospitals and medical centers, as well as training medical personnel. These efforts are part of 263 development projects and initiatives implemented across eight key sectors: education, energy, transportation, water, agriculture and fisheries, development programs, and government capacity building.
