Riyadh Season Card at Wembley to Make History: Joshua vs Dubois showdown set to draw record breaking attendance after new capacity increase
HE Turki Alalshikh, Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority (GEA), has announced that approval has been granted for the capacity at Wembley Stadium to be increased to a record 96,000 for the Riyadh Season Card Wembley Edition, headlined by IBF world heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois’ first title defence against two-time former unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua on Saturday September 21.
General Admission tickets for Riyadh Season’s first-ever fight card in London sold out last week but with permission now granted to increase the capacity at England’s iconic national stadium to a record 96,000, tickets will go back on sale tomorrow from 12pm UK time via Ticketmaster.com.
A 96,000 crowd at Wembley Stadium would be a record in both the UK and post-war Europe for a boxing event, and surpass the 94,000 fans who saw Tyson Fury knock out Dillian Whyte at the same venue in April 2022.
The Riyadh Season Card showpiece in London features a total of six all-British fights as well as a special performance by legendary frontman Liam Gallagher, his first live performance since the announcement earlier this week that Oasis would perform a reunion tour in 2025.
Full card:
Anthony Joshua vs Daniel Dubois – IBF Heavyweight title
Anthony Cacace vs Josh Warrington – IBF Super-Featherweight title
Joshua Buatsi vs Willy Hutchinson – WBO interim Light-Heavyweight title
Tyler Denny vs Hamzah Sheeraz – Middleweight
Liam Smith vs Josh Kelly – Light-Middleweight
