Self Assessment Platform Enables over 117,000 Establishments to Enhance Compliance, Transform Oversight into Sustainable Practice

The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development is advancing compliance efficiency in the Saudi labor market through digital solutions, most notably the Self Assessment Platform. Designed to enhance regulatory awareness among private sector establishments, the platform enables businesses to proactively and independently correct their compliance gaps, thereby reducing violations and strengthening contractual integrity in line with the Labor Law and its implementing regulations.

The platform reflects the ministry’s strategy to develop innovative regulatory tools that allow employers to measure their compliance with legislation and address shortcomings through an automated, accurate, and transparent mechanism. This approach aims to foster an attractive and stable work environment, while reshaping the relationship between the ministry and the private sector into one based on empowerment rather than traditional oversight.

Since its launch, the platform has enabled more than 117,000 establishments to conduct assessments across key areas, including contract documentation, wage protection, training and rehabilitation, employment of persons with disabilities, leave entitlements, and workplace hazard prevention. This expansion underscores the ministry’s commitment to achieving comprehensive compliance and improving the regulatory experience.

Through the platform, employers or establishment representatives can log in using their registered data, update profiles, and complete an assessment form according to approved criteria. They then receive a detailed compliance report highlighting performance levels, areas for improvement, and required corrective actions. Establishments may reassess themselves after remediation, with no limit on attempts, shifting compliance from a seasonal procedure to a continuous, sustainable practice.

The platform also offers a suite of enabling services, including "interactive training" to guide establishments in applying the evaluation mechanism, and an "interactive guide" that provides regularly updated regulatory provisions and decisions.

The ministry said that the initiative aligns with its strategic objective of enhancing employer and worker compliance while strengthening collaborative relationships with the private sector. It also contributes to achieving the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 by advancing the competitiveness and attractiveness of the Saudi labor market through an integrated legislative and digital framework, improving the work environment, and fostering economic empowerment.
