Dr. Al-Issa discusses the Islamic vision outlined in the "Charter of Makkah" concerning several pressing international issues.

The Woolf Institute at the prestigious University of Cambridge in Britain hosted His Excellency, the Secretary General of the Muslim World League (MWL) and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars, His Eminence Sheikh Dr. Muhammad bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa.
During the main meeting and the working dinner, His Eminence discussed the principles outlined in the "Charter of Makkah", addressing various international issues. These included the Islamic perspective on navigating differences and diversity in accordance with the Way of Allah, coping with their universal inevitability. Additionally, he touched on topics such as migration, climate change, combating hate speech, the empowerment of women within Islamic contexts, and promoting awareness among Muslim youth and non-Muslims about Islamic teachings.
His Excellency highlighted the MWL’s efforts in all the aforementioned issues, especially its continued dialogue with everyone, stressing that the MWL addresses all those who want to hear the truth and the explanation of the meanings of our Islamic values from the world’s different sects.
His Eminence said, “We do not exclude anyone who wants to hear - in all impartiality - the truth in which we believe.” He added, “Whoever extends their hands to the MWL sincerely, I will accept it, as it is the morals of our Noble Prophet – May Allah’s Peace and Blessings be Upon Him.”
Dr. Al-Issa clarified that the Muslim World League is apolitical. Instead, its primary mission is to elucidate the true essence of Islam to a global audience through its various organizations. Foremost among these are the scholars of the Islamic Ummah who endorsed the "Charter of Makkah". He urged for widespread communication to disseminate the document's contents worldwide, particularly to those with misconceptions or incomplete information about Islam.
He added that "the MWL seeks, through its effective initiatives and programs to promote global peace and harmony within national societies, steering clear of conflicts and clashes between civilizations or policies." He emphasized that the MWL is not a political organization. Any statements it makes regarding political matters, whether supportive or condemning, are rooted in its mission to uphold the values of our religion, advocating for justice and peace.
His Eminence also spoke about the MWL’s initiative, well-received by the UN General Secretariat, which was launched at its headquarters in New York, in the presence of a large global audience. This initiative aims to build bridges of understanding and peace between East and West.
