DGDA, SCE Sign MoU to Enhance Cooperation

The Diriyah Gate Development Authority (DGDA) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) to enhance collaboration between the two entities. This agreement aims to consolidate efforts in the engineering sector, including the development of policies and regulations, implementation of oversight and inspection mechanisms, simplification of procedures related to permits and licenses, exchange of data and expertise, and joint work on projects and initiatives.
According to a press release issued by the DGDA today, the MoU was signed by CEO of DGDA Jerry Inzerillo and Secretary-General of SCE Eng. Abdulmohsen Almajnouni. The agreement underscores the necessity of unifying efforts, facilitating procedures, and enabling collaboration to improve quality, increase efficiency, and ensure continuity of work while maintaining the agility needed to address challenges effectively.
The memorandum will facilitate the exchange of relevant statistics, studies, and research, thereby strengthening the relationship between the two parties and helping achieve their shared goals and aspirations. Additionally, it aims to support the implementation of joint projects and initiatives. A joint working team will be established to enhance collaboration in areas such as developing mechanisms for issuing necessary licenses and permits for service providers under DGDA's supervision and cooperating on the qualification and classification of professional offices regulated by the SCE.
The release highlighted CEO Inzerillo's remarks on the significance of the MoU. He stated that the agreement would bolster DGDA's organizational role in simplifying licensing, permits, and oversight procedures. This, he noted, will contribute to showcasing the extensive historical roots of Diriyah as the birthplace of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its distinctive architectural features, providing a unique experience for visitors from around the globe. Through this collaboration, DGDA will align its objectives and enhance its contributions to cultural, tourism, architectural, and economic development while strengthening governance between the two entities.
Eng. Almajnouni emphasized that the partnership is expected to achieve shared objectives that promote sustainable development in line with the highest standards of commitment. He affirmed that this memorandum would elevate Diriyah's status as a leading cultural and historical destination regionally and globally while fostering cultural and historical awareness within the engineering field.
