Ministry of Tourism: Localization Rates in Tourism Jobs in Makkah Increase to 40%

The Ministry of Tourism revealed the number of Saudis working in activities licensed by the Ministry of Tourism in the city of Makkah, noting that the total number of workers in hospitality facilities and travel agencies exceeded 5,000 male and female workers.
The Ministry stated that the localization rates for jobs related to tourism activities in Makkah amounted to 40%, indicating that the number of Saudi workers in activities licensed by the Ministry of Tourism recorded an increase of up to 14%. The localization rates of jobs in hospitality facilities in Makkah exceeded 38% during the last year, 2023, compared to the previous year, 2022. The Ministry noted that the percentage of Saudi women working in the sector rose to 37% during the current year, 2024.
The Ministry of Tourism is keen to empower Saudi male and female workers in the tourism sector and to attract those who are competent to improve the quality of services provided to pilgrims. It also works with several distinguished young people who are fluent in international languages such as English and the languages of Islamic countries in order to provide the best services to pilgrims during the Hajj season.
