Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Secretary-General Hissein Brahim Taha welcomed the resumption of the Syrian Arab Republic's membership in the OIC, emphasizing that the historic decision of the Council of Foreign Ministers reaffirms the support of the OIC and its member states for the Syrian people during this critical time in their history.
He highlighted that the reinstatement of Syria is aimed at facilitating a peaceful and secure political transition that restores the country’s institutions, territorial integrity, and status among nations.
Taha also stressed the General Secretariat’s readiness to fully cooperate with Syria in serving the goals and principles of the OIC and strengthening joint Islamic action.
