Chinese President Opens Asian Winter Games in Harbin

People's Republic of China President Xi Jinping officially opened yesterday the 9th Asian Winter Games in the city of Harbin.

 The opening ceremony was attended by Vice President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee and Member of the Executive Office of the Olympic Council of Asia Prince Fahd bin Jalawi bin Abdulaziz bin Musaed.

 The ceremony, held in a picturesque winter setting, featured a parade of the 30 participating countries, many artistic performances reflecting Chinese cultural heritage, and fireworks displays that lit up the city's sky.

 The Saudi flag was raised at the opening of the Games by Saudi alpine ski team athletes Fayik Abdi and Sherifa Al-Sudairi.

 Abdi expressed his pride and honor in raising the Kingdom's flag at the continental event alongside his teammate, expressing hope for outstanding performances by himself and fellow Saudi athletes worthy of the Kingdom's sporting reputation.
