Madinah Records Highest Occupancy Rate for Tourist Accommodation Facilities in Q1 2026
Madinah recorded the Kingdom's highest occupancy rate for tourist accommodation facilities in the first quarter of 2026, with hotels, serviced apartments, and other accommodation establishments achieving an occupancy rate of 82%.
Makkah ranked second with an occupancy rate of 59.8%, followed by Jeddah at 59.2% and Riyadh, including Diriyah, at 55.7%.
A report issued by the Ministry of Tourism on the hospitality sector's performance during the first quarter of 2026 showed that Madinah recorded an average daily room rate of SAR453, as well as the highest revenue per available room (RevPAR) at SAR372.
It also ranked second among the Kingdom's major cities and governorates in the number of rooms in licensed tourist accommodation facilities, with a total of 76,907 rooms. Hotels accounted for 91% of the total room inventory in licensed accommodation facilities.
During the first quarter of 2026, Madinah also received 17% of all new licenses issued for tourist accommodation facilities across the Kingdom, totaling 65 facilities, including 37 hotels, 28 serviced apartments, and other accommodation establishments.
