Mumbai Building Collapses Kill Six After Heavy Rains Lash Eastern Suburbs

At least six people were killed yesterday after several buildings collapsed in the eastern suburbs of Mumbai, India, following torrential rains.

Local authorities said two or three multi-story buildings collapsed in the Mankhurd area, killing six people, including five children and a woman.

The heavy rains also triggered landslides along the highway linking Mumbai and Pune, disrupting travel along the route.

Air travel was disrupted, while several long-distance train services were canceled due to the severe weather.
